Hello Gang; I did some more work to help me understand more about this topic. I decided to take some capacitors from my junk box, and measure leakage currents versus applied voltage, and then series up a pair to see how they behave. First I had two Sprague D76588 47 Uf -

Wonderful site, those tubes glowing. Ceramic tubes just don't have the charisma and solid state, what a laugh. But to hit the plate switch and see the wattmeter go up to 10 KW or more is a real charge. I worked for KOMA in OKC back in the 60s when they had a WE 50 KW water cooled transmitter. B

The voltage would divide according to the capacitance values (assuming 0 leakage in both caps). Using the formula C=Q/V, where C is capacitance in Farads, Q is charge in Coulombs, and V is voltage (in volts, of course!), Q necessarily has to be the same for both caps in a series circuit once both a

I parted one out a couple of years ago. I don't care much for the way RCA laid out their transmitters, although they used superbly built components. The physical layout doesn't lend itself for conversion to higher frequencies. They just seemed to place the components in the most convenient s
