The 400 would be overkill for your use. The 700 is a good choice, but how much highway driving do you do? Around town my 700 yields about the same mpg as the 350. On the highway it does make a noticeable difference. The 350 is not a bad choice and it is slightly easier to rebuild & main

Maybe it's just trying to make me feel better. Like, for $1 I can have a
full tank of gas.

Ok,
thanks. One of the many brilliant things Ron Miller did when he worked on my
car was to cut the ground wire instead of disconnecting it like a person who
actually cares would do, and then not bother to re-attach it. So, when I got
the car back I had to drop the tank and re-attach the wi

Well, lately every single day something has broken and today is no
exception. I just went out and started the El Camino and the fuel gauge went
way past full about half-way through the temperature light area. This is the
first time this has ever happened. I'm hoping it's just a symptom of the
heat.
A friend at work had a similar experience. We fixed it by cleaning & retightening all the grounds in the engine compartment. good luck

disconnect the solenoid wire off the starter and put

to start it and see if there is 12V appears.

Hey man, Rust adds weight and holes take it away!
By the pictures you sent me I don't think rust is a major issue on your
Blazer.

I agree with the solenoid idea. Also keep in mind just
because a cable looks good doesn't mean it is. You can never get enough ground
in my opinion so I have a new ground cable from the battery to the head on the
engine (not the alternator bracket)as well as the heavier wire also from the

I always start with the easiest fix. No juice, no click, no nothing & the acc's work. Assuming it's a good battery, dirty or poor battery contacts. It's not the corrosion you can see, it's what you can't see between the cables & the posts. Try cleaning the cables & posts & check all contacts.
sounds like it could be the starter solenoid

I adjusted all the valves today & the ticking disappeared (but returned
slightly after a while).
I think it's the "lock nut" on #8 cylinder that's unthreading it self.
Even though I thought it was #4's valve that was the problem.
I dont know why the sound dissapears when i disconnect #4's plug!!??
I did the stetoscope thang and located the "source" to be under the valve
cover!
No arching from the ignition cables found but I'll swap the plug with
another cylinder to rule out cracked spark plug insulation.
A fellow gear head on a Swedish list thought it might be a stuck valve at

The hose works like a mechanics stethoscope. Any sound made near the
end if the hose will be transmitted right to your ear. It makes it
really easy to localize any engine sound.
I guess I left out the part where you have one end of the tube up to
your ear and the other end all around the hea
