I found a couple of Brewer's Sparrows yesterday at the Lake Loop. From the
paved parking area there is a gravel path down to a picnic area. I found
them there. Common Yellowthroat I haven't seen in awhile but have seen them
at the pond near the airfield on the same side of the road.
Bob lives in AZ and asked me to post this for him.
I am planning to attend the CFO Convention and am looking for ride share
transportation from the Denver-Boulder area to Sterling and back.

If you haven't gotten your Broad-Tailed Hummingbird, I have them in my backyard
in Lakewood which is southwest of Denver, and pretty much straight West of
Cherry Creek State Park. 30 Minutes from CC Reservoir.

I checked Crow Valley Campground (Weld County) and surroundings this
morning and found some expected but nice migrants: Cassin's Vireo, 3
American Redstarts, 4 Gray Catbirds, 2 Olive-sided Flycatchers, and 2
uncooperative empids. The Red-breasted Nuthatches reported previously by

Over the week-end a flock of at least a dozen, likely more, Common
Nighthawks that were migrating through stopped over to feed with many
flying close over my home, flying around and around for about 45 minutes.
They were not very high so I got photos showing field marks and
identifiable by gender
