I took my dogs for a walk through Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in
Centennial (Arapahoe) this morning. There, I quietly pished at some silent,
brushy stuff that last winter housed a Harris's Sparrow. A rather dapper,
adult White-throated Sparrow quickly emerged.

I dipped on the Fork-tailed Flycatcher this morning. Between all of 111th
street from Prince Lake to Erie Pkwy being closed and all the construction
along Carbonate Lane, I missed it. I stopped by the north side of Standley
Lake on my way home. I got my first Cackling Geese, Canvasback, and

Has been at this location all morning. Flying north into housing development.
Look foe open house blue balloons and observed from path. It allows from
Russian Olive. From construction site look north to metal post with white top.
It frequents there. Last seen at 1245

That's a great line, Mark, but I wonder if Peter shared with you that when
he first saw the bird on Sunday, he was wearing biking clothes and had
arrived without his own binoculars or scope! Perhaps he was repeating a
line HE heard on Sunday! ;-)

Upon our arrival this morning at Carbonate Lane, Peter Gent had the best
birding line ever.
"Have you seen the bird? Where is the bird?" I asked.
"In the scope," he replied.
And it was.

south of 982 Carbonate Lane, which is a little way northeast of Prince Lake
#2. The F-t Flycatcher was in the Russian Olive about 50 yards due west of
where I parked, and nicely visible. This seems a good location fo

A number of us are getting great looks at the fork tailed flycatcher near
Prince Lake number two in Erie. Drive past Prince Lake number 2, turn left onto
carbonate Circle, then turn left on the next carbonate Road and the bird is
