APM is on in the BIOS, but the kernel does not use it as it is not
compiled
read-only test and again it locked up with an DMA
timeout.
Does anyone have the onboard Promise successfully in use on an Asus
K8V board?
I tested the performance of the Promise controller on an Asus K8V SE
Deluxe M/B, comparing to the on-board VIA VT8237. The Promise controller
is slightly diffe

I'm still having no luck getting audio working correctly on AMD64.
When using a 32-bit kernel and a 32-bit userspace audio works correctly
only with some apps (e.g. xmms, tuxkart, mplayer) but stutters and plays
erratically with most everything else (circuslinux, bumprace, many
more). This may h

I've tried to switch to an x86_64 kernel today, but failed to get it
to boot.

No, I never mess with the OSS stuff. I'm certain that wasn't compiled
in.

Sorry not very helpful, but hopefully it helps.

Does anyone have audio working correctly on an Asus K8V SE Deluxe?
I recently upgraded the motherboard on my desktop at home to this
board and am having trouble getting audio to work correctly.
The motherboard has an integrated VIA VT8237 audio chip on it,
and it sort-of works with the ALSA
