The programs require the kernel module i8k.o which can be compiled from
the package sources or found in Linux kernel 2.4.14 and later versions.
The kernel module has been tested only on Inspiron 8000 laptops but it
should work on any Inspiron and Latitude laptops.

Modern laptops should use a kernel compiled for 686. The net-install
kernel should be used only for the installation. Anyway I will add
a dependency.

and if it's still useful for debian.
Anyway if you think the package wastes too much disk space it is ok for
me to remove it.
Should I take some action to have the package actually removed from
the archives or is this mail sufficient?
BTW, you should remove also alml which is only used for packaging
this book.

Regarding the software suspend problem we could try to swapoff the crypt
