I also experience the same issue with gworkspace, clicking info > preferences
does not open the preferences dialog. The ui continues to be responsive (i.e.
it does not freeze).

I suspect there might be some relevant console output. Do you see any
output after clicking Preferences if you start gnumail through the terminal?
