I am new to Debian and am having problems with the apt-get, dpkg system. I
have reinstalled the system 2 times and continuye to have the same problem.
Whenever I try to install a package I get the following set of messages.
dpkg: `ldconfig' not found on PATH.
dpkg: `start-stop-daemon' not foun

getting my soundcard working on a Compaq 4130T. I've tried modconf but
upon trying to install the sb module I get an error saying:

In trying to get my Armada 4130T laptop's soundcard working I've
obtained kernel-image-2.4.22-1-686 and installed it. I also modified
the lilo.conf file and it appears to be loading initrd on rebooting

Yes and no. Yes in that you can print to jet.direct.card.name!raw (pardon
my SV'ishness), no in that it will always claim to be faulted.
