Hi,
this is just a bug to keep the package from testing to migration now,
as it should go in only with a newer X.org (at least according to
datos file, which references a request from the maintainer). I'm going
to drop this block after this bug is a
that the project
nouveau is making progress, changes are merged back, and this driver is
better then the binary-only driver, I think keeping the driver in main
is the right decision.

I don't think we're

So, my question is whether it would be sensible to setup some Debian
Fonts Team who could team-maintain these packages in a common
repository?

A potential other issue is that paths for fonts and modules have changed
and thus changes in the X configuration file may be needed. Whether this
really is an issue depends on how well conversion of old X11 config files
is supported

IMHO, this is your call. What do you decide?

it's our task to try to protect
the from such issues.
If it's not reasonable to support it in code, why not doing what the
submitter proposed - adding that information to the release notes. But
just ignoring it isn't IMHO the right thing.

Total true. I have exactly the same opinion as Wouter on this topic.
