My example is wrong. These slash multiplication occurs when there’s more
that just "\n", like "\nTest" and doubles, not just increments by one.
"\n" actually becomes U+000A displayed as a square box with codepoint
after the first search and dialog reopening.

O.k., but if a user installs a system and automatically gets errors and its

The procedure to reproduce the error is as follows:
1. Start EOG
2. Rotate a picture
3. Save the rotated picture
4. Go to the next picture (happens automatically)
5. Do steps 2 to 4 several times
6. After approx. 10 repetitions EOG freezes without an error message

than 4 gigs of space by deleting some stuff and removing a ton of
sofware with synaptic and apt-get, checked it with "df -h", only to
reboot and find that my computer had somehow reclaimed that space and my
