I'm not using lxdm, just lxde (Lubuntu Desktop actually). I have no idea
where the problem is and what the expected behavior should be (the proxy

I'll have another look into it. You are right, it is the video driver
which is the problem. glx gears also quits with a strange error, but I
think it did not crash.
