After upgrading to Ubuntu 20.10 I don't see any files/launchers on the desktop
after start.
But if I create a new Desktop folder per context menu, all files/launchers
appear on the desktop.

Thanks but the last gnome-shell crash on that page was on 2020-05-16.
Although that crash was bug 1886059, it may not be the same issue you
