Symptom:
When shutting down Ubuntu Gutsy the login screen is shown for a split second
before the actual shutdown. Even the dum-dum login sound is played as if the
system has just started up. This makes the whole shutdown experience too
cluttered. I even feel like logging in

I'm on Gutsy Tribe 5 + all software updates. The problem is exactly as
explained in the original bug report, i.e. a beep on welcome screen and
no login sound. In the sound configuration I have login and logout

The problem comes and goes. It came back after the latest software
update (Sept 17, 2007).

Yep, it's the same error message as explained in bug 131711, but my
sound works and testing all other functions works as well. I only get
this error message when testing "Sound Capture".
