This will only fail, if you have an invalid browser configured in your
gnome "Preferred Applications", e.g. /usr/local/bin/swiftfox, which
would not exist anymore.
Then to reproduce it:
1. start gnome-about
2. click on a link therein
I would bet that other applications are similarly affected, but
What version of Ubuntu do you use? Does opening an url in other GNOME
sotfware works correctly? Could you describe the steps to trigger the
bug?
