the Unity lens and typed in the first couple of letters for an album I
wished to listen to (the files are FLAC files). In the Music opti

for here. These were all split out from the xcb-util package (in main)
during Ubuntu 11.10, and are small packages, so I'm not worried. But

It didn't run the test suite that upstream has, but I fixed that in an
upload (and passed the patch to Debian). Besides that patch, we would
be in sync.
Since it parses files, it would normally need a security review, but

I had a similar problem simple scan couldn't find my HP Officejet Pro
8500 network printer/scanner, but only sees my locally attached USB
webcam. I installed hplip-gui and it didn't recognize my printer. I
manually added it via it's IP address and now simple scan recognizes my

I'd like to add, that submenus like further networks, VPN etc are also
not populated. As a heavy VPN user, one of the first things to do after
every suspend is to restart nm-applet by hand. It's one of the biggest

Quick follow up. I believe I've narrowed my 12.10 reproduction down to
one sub-commit of revision 490 (revision 410.2.3):

OK. The problem with 12.10 was that the code responsible for drawing
the background between logging in and the session starting (which was
fixed in 12.04 previously in this bug) was accidentally dropped
completely. That was my fault. :-/ I've got a new branch up, which
should easily make it int

Corrupted graphics after
I cannot make the crash happen consistently with two fingers. It seems
random, but always caused by a drag.

I'm a little uncomfortable with this whole idea though. What are the
sounds played by the greeter?
* "greeter is ready" sound
* orca speech
Anything else?
It strikes me as odd that those sounds would be muted if the last user
that happened to log in had their sound muted at logout time. Why wo
(I realize that the sounds would be unmuted once you switched the
selected user, but both those sounds are most useful on startup -- login
lets you know the greeter is ready, orca tells you where you are.)
Another Design question: What would the volume be for non-user greeter
entries like "Other"
