My assumption was that he was expecting to get "com.com" back instead of "
subdomain.com". www.subdomain being the subdomain of com.com, which is a

Oh, I also wanted to point out that stellar accepts both `"` and `'` as
string bookends. So, you didn't have to escape your double quotes. You could
have just used single quotes.
