NBEMS is the only application that would meet your DEC's requirements,
find it within the latest implementing of FLDIGI. It contains ARQ

Yes, a new version for Alpha testing was released last week. As
usual, a few issues were uncovered and some fixes developed. I would
guess that it is perhaps a month or two away from a beta release.

Thanks Skip, I had a K1FO design 2M beam but took it apart , too big
for me. I also have old large 2M and 440 cross polarized Yagis
laying in the garage doing nothing , but again too much antenna for my

While I have seen how well ALE 400 works, I am not convinced that it
is worth the effort to invest in activity due to the lack of other
hams using the mode. While ALE400 make sense to me, I can't see hams,
en masse , switching to it. I still think that a better option would

First, is it really ALE as used currently? I am not sure that the
recent tests of this mode have actually used it in the form of
establishing an automatic link. I know it can be used this way , but
do not see this. If it is not really ALE, what should it be called ?
Second, the performance of
From time to time we have had discussions here about the problem with
PSK (and other modes) when a strong stations appears to grab the

Because of this phenomenon, when I purchased a new rig, I looked for
