Another suggestion is to have the main tuning knob change the left number and
the VFO B knob change
the right number. This way you can increment or decrement either.

If you have an SDR type panadaptor using the IF out signal, you can try a
peaking filter by downloading and running WinRad software. WinRad has a
peaking filter that works great.

Guess what Lee, I have blown 3 serial ports. Not sure why you would think
high RF will blow a USB to serial converter and not a serial port. FYI I
built a cable using CAT 5 cable as suggested on this site and have not had a
problem since.

I used WAL MART Color Place Rust Control spray paint to finish a pair of
homebrew speaker cabinets to match my K3. It is Black Satin (21049), which
I believe is between flat and semi-gloss. It looks very close to the
Elecraft K3 paint.

I built one of their 140 watt amps for a 20 meter HB SSB rig. I only have
it configured for one band, 20 meters, but left room to add filters for all
HF bands. It works great.

I believe I read somwhere that you can do a mod to Astron power supplies to
make the float chargable. They sell supplies that say they are for battery
back-up, I suspect they are already modified for float charge.

about tube amps, I
think the ham can do a better job then many of the vendor amps. If you want
a fully integrated amp for the K2 and/or K3 that will be a little harder and
you might want to wait for Elecraft.

How about adding a built in tuner in the KPA-800/1500 that would work even
when you ran 100 watts from the K2 or K3 with the amp in standby?

I thought I read some where that you can use the 13 kHz filter to transmit
AM by using the transmit DSP to limit modulation bandwidth.
