What kind of mouse are you using? Are you able to select a mouse prior
to it hanging or is it not allowing you to select from the beginning? Do
you have an external mouse attached to the laptop? If so what kind? If
you have internal pointing device(s) you might try installing without an

I'm trying to install Mandrake 6 on a laptop but it crashes every time
at the mouse probing stage. It says 'probing found some type of PS/2 on
port ps aux' then hangs and can only be restarted with a hard reset.
The same cd has been used to install M6 on 3 or 4 other machines.
