I'm lloking for reccomendations for a printing system alternative to the
BSD lpd system. I've looked at CUPS and Apsfilter and both seem to
support what I want to do. I'm willing to look at other options
though. The printers in question are supported by Ghostscript drivers.

I've read the handbook and searched through /usr/src/sys/conf/NOTES and
found the list of snd_* drivers. I'm just not sure which one I should
use. I have an Asus P4P800E-Deluxe. The website says the onboard audio
is ALC850 CODEC which is AC' 97 compatible. Does anyone know which

I been following the progress of the 5.3 release and I thought they were
changing the shceduler from SCHED_4BSD to SCHED_ULE? Also I recently
acquired a DVD+-RW and was wondering if I should stick with using burncd
and growisfs with the standard /dev/acd0 or should I switch to using
atapicam?
I started by installing the pkg apache w/ mod_ssl.
When I attempt to install mod_php4 or /lang/php4 it wants to reinstall
apache w/out ssl and fails because an apache package is already on the
system.
Any advice in getting apache w/ ssl and php installed using pkgs?

I have made concat drive using 3 hard disks using vimum vm. Some weeks
ago one of those 3 disks crashed completely (bios can't even detect it
anymore). My question now is: is there any chance to recover the data
that resides on the 2 (working) remaining disks?

pkg_add and I complains about 4 missing packages:

clearing the cache of my cable modem. On most cable modems this can be
accomplished by yanking out the power supply, waiting 10 seconds, and
plugging it back in ;) .

DSL provider use? Companies like Covad, VerizonEast, Earthlink & AOL use
pppoe. So the first thing is to figure out what you provider requires DHCP,
Static, or pppoe. Then it is very simple to begin nating between t

the files is root and the group is wheel. Is there a way to change that
