Extended file atributes

I was just reading about something called "extended file atributes", in Linux. This seems to be a way to store arbitray tag -> value pairs in the filesystem, which are assocaited with a given file. Can this be done in FreeBSd? -- Unix is very simple, but it takes a genius to u
