Debby says that Cotton always has a full thick mane, but that some of the
other Icelandics rub their manes off on the pipe corrals.

Eir does not, but she, like the others, do go thru a thinning / shedding
process.

or rubbing i thought i read somewhere that manes and tails and
fetlock hair never shed... arent you having a heat wave? i think
this heat, hottest august ever in recorded history here where I
live--- is in large part to blame for all sorts of misery around here.

When I was riding Tali, the grey Arab our grandson owns now, I looked up on
the hill one day and his pony friend had given him a drastic tail trim. I
didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The hair was all lying there in a
heap, but there wasn't a lot I could do about it. Tali looked pretty silly
