Connection is through usb port...
I used Relience phone itself for testing...

I used a relaince connection on windows xp in chandigarh a few months
back and gave me great connect speeds. The efective download speed was
about 9-10kbps/sec. Much more than the traditional dial up connection. I
dont know about linux though.
