freeze here, DXing was attempted at 0900 UTC with a 3' homemade bedside
loop, and hopes of strong TP's during the Asian sunset.
As is usual during this period, signals were up and down, and required some
Just a warning that we finally made it back to the South Prairie

Washington a week ago minus about three hours, we thought that we
might actually make the shortest run to Oklahoma down thru Salt Lake

John,
Glad you made it back safely, even though you had to drive a bit out of
your way. Here on the North Coast, we got down to 18 last night! Very
cold temps with the Arctic blast out of Canada. No snow, but cold temps

The Pittsburg CA station is not all that strong in S.F. Carries //
programming coming from the 1010 San Francisco station. 990 is directed
so as to cover Sacramento area. Dunno how much of their signal makes it
to the northwest. We also get the Santa Barbara Mexicali stations
here in S.F.

I've got a box with your name on it, but no address. Can you let me know
your Stillwater address?

That's also the only 860 Urban format showing on 10watts.com.

Well, no Algeria here tonight, but finally got something out of 963 which
identifies it as CRI I think.Could hear a woman talking, followed by
children chanting, then a man talking at 0450UT, and it was all followed a few
seconds later on a Swedish receiver on GlobalTuners, tuned to 963
When heard a few weeks ago I heard CRI 963 Pori with Chinese lessons for
Russian listeners. The key phrase was Radio Kitaya, the Russian word for
China. Jim Renfrew, Holley NY

Had to go to work this morning so didn't get much listening done; seemed a
