New Caledonia 729 was logged quite a few years back, but they never QSL'd even
after several f/ups. 666 QSL'd years before that though.

I was also told NW 980 was operating from a aux site at their studio's at lp.
Need to temp hook up my Eastern Beverage tomorrow. The tree is still uprooted,
but hooking up the Beverage is an easy job.

KLLK is strong up here at times. Never logged KHIL up here, but a regular in
Palm Springs.

It should have been a fine morning to be at the coast...tons of
carriers noted here, many with audio hints, and even some actual
audio on unusual channels, but not too much ID'd
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
Sure enough, Nick. Pretty decent signal at 06:20 from Tahiti. Some
splatter from 740 KCBS and CBX, though. 73,...Walt

Just in time for ocean cliff fanatics who might want to try for 729-New
Caledonia in a few days, Nick.

No, Bruce mentions KULE, Ephrate WA. CKDM just ID'd at 05:35:20 with
something about "Heartland, CKDM". Walt

At 05:30, I'm hearing a mis-mash, but the dominant station is in English.
CKDM ID at 05:31, so that's what's dominant. Dauphin, Manitoba with 5000
watts. Dauphin's the home of the Ukrainian National Festival, which I've
once attended at the end of July each summer. Pretty decent reception,

Pretty sure I heard a "La Zeta", and "Washington" just after 0300UT,
but there was another station with music plus the usual grumbles of
urban noise makers to confuse an already weak signal.
best wishes,
Nick

That's right. A very quiet frequency at the moment. I heard about a big
fire at Burn's Bog. Related? Walt

KHIL 1250 is a fairly easy catch here in SoCal around sunrise. I logged KLLK
1250 Willits (which Dennis mentioned) a few years ago on a DX test. I believe
Willits-Fort Bragg has a famous tourist train that you can ride through the
redwoods. I remember I used to hear KDHI 1250 in Twenty Nine Pal
