My dog woke me up at 4 AM to take her outside. After she was done, I
climbed back upstairs and concluded I could go back to sleep after I
checked the radio bands.
Starting at 1710 kHz, I slowly began tuning and stopped short at 1700
kHz where I heard a weak signal. WJCC (Miami Springs,

up with what I heard in the past, so I think that solves the mystery.

Mining my December 20 1100Z top-of-the-hour recording, I discovered this
early Christmas gift:
On 1480 kHz, Ohio stations WDJO in Cincinnati and WHBC in Canton
I wanted to make sure I was not hearing things and I wanted to make sure
I was passing along good information. So I contacted C.Crane Customer
Service and asked them point blank does the new Skywave SSB do SSB on
the AM/MW bands, as well as the SW bands.
Good news is that C.Crane Customer
to places like Kona, Hawaii. Modified Sony ICF-2010 models have
been used for that purpose during major Rockwork 4 DXpeditions, but those models are a
little too unwieldy to pack in hand-carry luggage.

I made over a dozen ELAD FDM-S2 recordings of the AM broadcast band
during the eclipse and I will review them later.
I also had my C.Crane CC Skywave receiver outdoors with me during the
event. I programmed six frequencies from thislist

Best conditions I've heard in years overnight!
TAs on 162, 171 198, 216 and 252 were loud and clear. Logged a bunch of
new navigational aid and AM radio stations. It may take me days to log
all the new stations from the recordings!
About 1 AM, we lost power, but since the ELAD FDM-S2 is
of the pond is Radio Reloj in
Cuba but don't know if they have a tx on 1450.

I felt the same way until I added the ELAD S2 receiver to my shack.
There is no way I could have logged 125 new stations this summer the old
fashioned way, but each to his own.
By the way, I still DX the old fashioned way when time permits.
