So why don`t you guys DF - triangulate it? For starters, what is its bearing
from Tim, from where exactly in West Michigan? I`ve also had a JBA carrier on
1710.

I've heard this station countless times now since the signal is quite good
here, but I've never heard any announcements between songs, station ID,
etc. It remains a mystery..

Jim,
Yes, that song is on the playlist. Here's my log of this station from July
22 where I documented the playlist (it hasn't changed). Times shown below
are UTC:

0131z: Question Mark and the Mysterians - 96 Tears

Tim, Did you hear Hail Hail Rock and Roll in the repeated list of songs?

Back again tonight, 0240 UTC, oldies with no announcements between songs.
Same playlist of oldies, songs generally heard in the same order. I've
been hearing it for several weeks now on 1710 between 0100 and 0300 UTC.
Often, when the playlist completes, it will stay on with an open carrier

In the mix of Hudson NJ, Springfield MA and probably Flight 93 PA I heard
Chuck Berry with "Hail, Hail, Rock and Roll" at 0150. Faded quickly, but
it had come on to start the song like someone had pushed the "on" button.
Ar 0155 the music is gone.

Radio Soliel International was the one I heard.

Hi Nigel,
They do have a street address, so if the FCC wanted to find them, I am
sure they could. But they all seem to run in the 100w range, so a good
catch no matter what. Great going.

Hi Patrick,
Yes, I'm not surprised such a station wouldn't want to admit they're

Nigel,
I heard one a couple years back on 1710. I even contacted the station
via e mail, and they said to send the CD. I sent a CD, but never got a
reply, after several f/ups.

Hello all,
Jan 28th was excellent to the east in the early morning hours, and I
heard a station on 1710, with a fairly good signal at times. To me it

correctly) serving the Haitian community. Is there anyone on the li
No doubt about it is French, sounds like French you might hear from an
African nation or maybe Haiti. Much like the Haitian TV station I get
off satellite. Is this one of the NE pirates? If so, can a QSL be
obtained? Except I am not sure if there is more than one on 1710. There
is that old SS music
1710UNID station fading up and down with a male speaker in what
sounds like accented French. Another station was under it playing old
Spanish ballads at 0435 EST 1/15. Any ideas? Off the Eastern beverage.
Not too bad on peaks. (PM-OR)

Karl,
As of last Summer, the 1710 Pirate in Boston (Dorchester Neighborhood) was
French Caribbean. The following listing is from Bruce Conti's website:
1710 R.Top Inter, Hyde Park-Dorchester - 24 hr. French Caribbean, relayed
on 98.9 FM.
Perhaps the one you heard is from NY or southwest

UNID station on 1710 kHz playing lots of Mexican ballads in Spanish.
No announcers or IDs. Nice bottom end on audio.
Strong signals, way over the Brooklyn pirate in Hebrew and English.
Heard even over power line buzz.
