So, I might just have understood the options offered by Dolphin wrong? Or could
it be argued that also alphabetical ordering should treat numbers like natural?

Does selecting "Natural" mode help? The alphabetical modes do not use number
ordering, so "10" < "2", as in "Ba" < "C".
