I agree completely! IMHO, this is the single most annoying thing about
lilypond: the lack of a (obvious-to-the-user) uniform structur

Look into c:\cygwin\usr\share\texmf\fonts\vf and vf and try to find some
magic string for the font, like
\override LyricText #'font-name = #"pzcmi"

Something seems to have happened to the autobeamer in version 2.5.
Often (but not always) it seems to put no beams on the last group
in a bar, and sometimes it misses other groups as well.

How do I find out which fonts are available? I recall seeing a post about
Pango needing to be able to use the fonts, but I don't know where to look.
The font selection tools I have (xfontsel/gtkfontsel, using Debian) enable

Is a mechanism planned to convert older coding to current coding with
the stand-alone versions? I have "convert-ly" through the Fink install,
but it is not current with the latest stand-alone version.
