Yeah, they dropped in price back in June back at WWDC. I think they’re worth it
if you absolutely can’t wait around for a newer version.

Well!!! I join the ranks of owning a second generation Apple TV too. Waiting
for the new release sometime the near future. At least I know I'm in good

Audio description only works on the third generation. You can, however, use an
iPhone or iPad and get Netflix descriptions and then airplay the show including
descriptions to the Apple TV. The second gen cannot run the latest Apple TV
update which is required for audio description.
