Late today (30th) there were 3 American Avocets at the west end of Lake
Byllesby in Dakota Co. They were to the far right as you look south from
the cemetery. Also both yellowlegs, but no other shorebirds.

Saw my first RBGR of the year today at Macalester College's Ordway
Station (on the Mississippi). Also saw blue-grey gnatcatchers along
the river by the 3M property in Cottage Grove yesterday. My
co-worker also saw there a black and white warbler and a palm warbler

being seen?
I will be driving to the Cities on Saturday and would like to try to see =

The Rock Wren was seen on the buildings and on the lower long rock wall to
the north at about 830 on Wed am, then refound in the woods a bit nw of the
wall at about 10am

While leading a field trip for the Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter, we
tried and missed on the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron in Mower County. We
checked at noon and 5:0
At 2pm Blaine Seeliger called me to report an American Bittern at the 180th
Street Marsh near Vermilion.He was unable to
find the Great-tailed Grackle. I was fortunately able to get down there later
in the afternoon and that evening. In the

festival. There were fifty or more people
participating. An exact number is unavailable as some participated only in
some of the events and others were only out on
