I know there have been recent e-bird reports of the Varied Thrushes in
Oakland Cemetery, Washington County, but I haven't seen any to this list
serve. I tried for the bird again Saturday January 16 from 12:30-3:45.
With coverage by
Denny Martin reports that the Black-legged Kittiwake is currently
(11:55 am Sunday) sitting on the channel wall at Canal Park in
Duluth. He said it was also seen briefly seen at 9:30 am today.

About 12:30pm I saw the one bird, but it was reported later that there was two
together
again at Canal Park.

Late yesterday I found a bird under my feeders and needed an extra pair of
eyes. So Dan Tallman came over and together we agreed that it is a Swamp
Sparrow. I took several very amateurish digi-scope photos and sent one to
Bruce Fall, who confirmed the identification.

One Kittiwake was observed at 2:45 today from the Canal. It was flying out a
ways but was identifiable.
