Have got to that bit in Jarod's guide again that I understand least -
the installing capture card drivers.
Using Jarod's config didn't seem to work (ie didnt result in a
dev/video0 device. So i'm now using the following

Yes. I had this problem with one of the PVR cards I bought. Although
there was nothing visibly wrong with the card it was defective in some
way as it displayed the same problem in another machine with windows. I
got a replacement and everything was fine so it definately was a hw

the recordings Menu don't seem to be suffering the same corruption...

Have tried using a FC2 redhat-artwork and then reinstalling things that
were removed (gdm, bits of KDE) but this resulted in missing title bars
in KDE. Have reverted back. Can someone point me at the best way to do
this / link to the package needed?
