OK I finally got this to work right. (6200 firewire Live TV and captures)
The problem is I'm not sure which change did it.
I upgraded to 0.18.1 (Thanks Jarod!) and also upgraded to the latest
stable IVTV (0.2.0-rc3j) at the same time (I'm running with both an
m179 and the firewire interface) and

Did you ever get anywhere on this? I've encountered the very same
issue in my configuration as well. (I'm running 0.18) Very hit-or-miss
as far as capturing HD or SD over the firewire.

Ok, I finally got the 6200 connected and reliably capturing using the
test-mpeg2 program.
In Myth I've got two different scenarios going on.
When I go to LiveTV on the tuner, sometimes I get a picture and other
times I don't. (if I manually tune via the 6200ch program before going
live it usually
