Hi,
There are problems, but they may be fixable in some cases. There is an
issue with the kernel modules used by the two types of cards. Also, a
150 or 500-card seems to require an unstable ivtv version. My PVR-350
and PVR-150 work ok though... now.
Check my blog for info.

Hi Group,
At the moment I'm using Myth 0.18 (knoppMyth install)
along with my PVR250. This works fine, no problems.
But like any man out there, I WANT MORE :)
I'm thinking of buying a PVR150 or PVR500 card to extend
the recording possibilities of MythTv. Is there any reason why
i can't use a PVR1

I'll be happy to add my notes when I can find a good place to buy the
pvr-500 for a reasonable price.

That's
done via firewire, serial or something like an IRBlaster. The on-board tuners
can only change their own channels, and that's the same for every card...
Both tuners can be used simultan

I did the bulk of my development work on my PVR-150 and 500 on a Debian box
(mix of testing and unstable,
i'm semi-hijacking this thread. ;)
has anyone been able to get either of these cards to work fairly
reliably[1] with KnoppMyth[2]?
andy
[1] fairly reliably meaning that it's understood certain features of
the cards are not yet supported by the drivers

Of course, a lot of that has to do with the signal you're feeding to the card
(or splitter) in the first place. How it compares to a pair of 150s and an
external amp, I couldn't say, but I have no complaints about

Jarod, can you elaborate on this? Does this mean that if I want to
use both of the tuners I can run a single RG6 cable to one of the
inputs, then it'll split the signal off t

No. The 500 only comes in an MCE variant, the 150 in both a retail and MCE
variant. None of the MCE cards come with a remote.

Anyone have any experience about which way to go on this? The price
is fairly simular when you consider the 500 has two tuners. Any
advantages, gotchas to decide whether to buy two pvr150's or one
pvr500?
