I did some searching, but I only found people talking about ack'ing via email
reply. I'd like to have the problem email or SMS message contain a URL that I
can click on to ack the problem. The idea is that everything is self-contained
and you don't have to leave your email client or SMS messag
I currently use the two "url" variables for different ways of connecting to a
host from the nagios webpage:
define host{
use generic-host

contact_groups it
notes_url https://192.168.1.1
I'm a very satisfied user of the Multitech SMSFinder and the perl script

The hardware was about $650 and the the "telemetry" SMS service from AT&T about
$9/month. Using this technology means my alerts can get out even if my

I'd suggest adding /usr/sfw/lib to the library path with 'crle' :
# crle -u -l /usr/sfw/lib

I had a similar problem with my backups, as they looked like a disk problem
to the nagios plugin. I turn off notifications before the backup:
/usr/bin/su - nagios -c /usr/local/bin/wget --quiet -O - --post-data
'cmd_typ=23&cmd_mod=2&host=yourhost&service=yourservice&btnSubmit=Commit'

Looks like you should add /opt/csw/lib to the library path with 'crle' :
# crle -u -l /opt/csw/lib

It is possible that there are updates available, but none of these are "high
priority", so they are not appearing when you go to the Windows Update
website?
Did you check the website for "optional" updates?It looks like some of
the contributed plugins on nagiosexchange do not check the prior

I'd like to be able to remotely turn off/turn on service/host checks. For
example, a remote machine could turn off a service check while running a backup
and turn it back on after it is done. Ideally, this is a simple perl script,
wrapper for 'wget', batch file, etc that could run on Unix or
"crle" is your friend for LD_LIBRARY_PATH problems on Solaris (8,9 and 10).

there a way to do this using the NSClient "filter" and Max/Min syntax?
Bonus question: What do you do if you have multiple drives? I don't see any
obvious way to specify a drive to check.
Thanks

I'd like to get SMART disk health status for Windows machines. It looks like
smartctl would work fine on Windows - has someone got it working with
NSClient++?
I've found some people asking about this in the list archives, but haven't
found any concrete examples.
All I'm looking for is a basic "
I've got some older Linux systems with Ultra SCSI III disks (mostly Seagate).
The default check_ide_smart doesn't seem to work on them.
# /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ide_smart -n --device=/dev/sdb
CRITICAL - SMART_ENABLE: Invalid argument
CRITICAL - SMART_CMD_ENABLE
But smartctl does seem
to do the following:
action_url ssh://linuxserver
and
action_urlrdp://windowserver
Now I can click on the "Extra Host Action" icon without knowing the
connection method in advance.
Thanks again

I'd like to be able click on the link presented by action_url in the Nagios
display or $HOSTACTIONURL$ in a notfication email and have it open a SSH
session to the host in question.
I found several people saying this is possible in the mailing list archives,
but I don't see any detailed examples
Sorry if this in the docs or FAQ - I didn't see it if it is.
I'm running nagios 3.0.6 and 1.4.13 plugins.
I want to have a URL in the email host notification that would allow me to
connect to an Avocent KVM switch. This is what I have for the host definition:
define host{
use generi
