This may seem like a very simple question:
How do I add a new host to monitor?
I am using the minimal.cfg
What file do i need to edit in order to add a new host/s?

Usage: check_ping -H host_address -w wrta,wpl% -c crta,cpl%

I am not sure what I need to set the following to
-w wrta,wpl% -c crta,cpl%
[-p packets] [-t timeout] [-L] [-4|-6]
Is there a document in the help files someone could point me to
So Far so good,
I just copied the snippet from the checkcommands.cfg file, changed it to
suit and wella! Now my Host is up, but I am still having problems with the
other commands.

I have managed to start nagios, but it is not monitoring anything due to
some problems encountered in the preflight check (which I had commented out
to be able to at least start nagios) these problems are:
Error: Command 'check-host-alive' has already been defined
Error: Could not register
I have commented out the following in minimal.cfg
#define command{
# command_namecheck_local_disk
# command_line$USER1$/check_disk -w $ARG1$ -c $ARG2$ -p $ARG3$
# }
#define command{
#command_namecheck-host-alive
#command_line$USER1$/check_ping
While attempting to start nagios I am recieving error similar to this one.
sh: line 1: /check_ping: No such file or directory
Warning: Return code of 127 for check of service 'PING' on host 'localhost'
was out of bounds. Make sure the plugin you're trying to run actually
exists.

Hi There,
I have been having problems with authenticating my nagiosadmin user. It
keeps prompting me. I have gone through the documentation over and over and
did a complete reinstall of RedHat(8), just in case. I have a fresh new
install of nagios, but am still recieving the prompt.

I keep getting an error: ./configure: No such file or directory when i run

--with-command-group=cmdgroup
Obviously I have replaced the
