Nov. 23, 1999 Excellent Editorial in today's paper!
Friends:
The Asheville(NC) Citizen-Times has an excellent Editorial today entitled "It's time for action on symbolism at Erwin High." The paper also printed opposite the Editorial Dr. Jace Weaver's entire (8 page) report that he prepared for the U.S. Justice Department on American Indian imagery at Erwin High School
If you have problems opening this link, given at the bottom of this email, you may see the Editorial at WNCCEIB's web site: www.main.nc.us/wncceib/ Follow links to American Indian Mascot issue
If you want to reply to the editorial with a letter-to-the-editor, please do! [EMAIL PROTECTED] please include you address and telephone no. in case they want to confirm your identity--they won't print you telephone no. or address (except town). Thank you!
Best wishes,
Monroe Gilmour, Coordinator
