Terence, fdisk output looks right: /var (hda9) partition is approx. 5600Mb, /var/Music (hda14) is 6200Mb. You left approx. 40Gb of unpartitioned space on the disk, right? df output puzzles me. Like you say, /var/Music is only approx 800Mbyte large. I have no idea why this happened. I would try
