I try to upgrade to apache 2.0 from 1.3
I use command rpm -qa | grep apache to see all apache
packages.
Then rpm -e apache apache-manual ... etc.
One of the files that I tried to remove have
dependency with perl and it not allow me to remove it,
unless I remove the other dependency.

looks like you need bison and flex, if you have your
software sources
configured properly, you should be able to do

1, how did you install php? rpm? tar?
I have been included on Mandrake 9.0 installation.
rpm installation - I used rpm package installation.
tar installation - I have never used it before.
2, why do you _need_ to un-install it? space? newer
version?
I want to upgrade to the latest release.
I tried to install php on linux mandrake. However I do
have an error message while do ./configure.
The error message said that lex . (something)
can not be found.
Is that mean I do need to install some other packages
or I should reconfigure ./configure file(I hope not)

When I type ./configure (as the instruction said) no respond, it said command is not recognized.
Is ./configure a script file or a command? If yes where about it located and how to configure it?
