Today, most of my time in the field was spent taking pictures of common
birds with my new camera, delighting in it's "zooming" properties !

This morning, the first 1/8 mile of shoreline w/o Shinnicock Inlet hosted a
huge number of birds, as they fed on a huge mass of clams & "snails", that
lay scattered over the beach. Most of the birds involved were Gulls
(Herring, Ring-billed, Great Black-backed, and 1 Imm. Iceland), with some
ducks & shorebirds (1 Dunlin & 1 Ruddy Turnstone) making up the remaining
participants.

This afternoon, on the e/s Roanoke Ave, just s/o Reeves Ave, Riverhead, I
flushed a T.V. off a "road kill", which I think was the remains of a large
Raccoon.

Cheers,
Bob
