There was an astTom article in the latest issue of Oracle magazine that went over how to do this (I don't think it was specific to 9i) and then went on to explain why you WOULDN"T want to do this.

Don't think that the only searchable archives are on orafaq. Fat City has the
definitive archives that date back to the start of the list here. You should consider
using the archives here as well.
