International Agreements state that airline-passengers who spend less than a
minimum time (6 hours in most countries) in transit at airports are deemed
not to have entered the country. My daughter doesn't officially enter Japan;
she just waits in the transit lounge until her flight is called. Simil

For a learned person this is pretty ignorant. To infer judgement of a country from the behavior of a few is not very bright. Does the name Dachau mean anything to you sir.

I swore that I would never get involved in the politics of this list, but
bugger it! Australia is a close ally of the US. Indeed, we had special
forces **inside** Iraq even **before** the Gulf War 2 started.
However, an Australian citizen who wants to enter the US has to be
fingerprinted to get ev
Hello to all:
We are writing this lengthy letter so that those of you who are AOS members can see
how the organization deals with donations.
For the past thirty years, we have been growing orchids, as a hobby/addiction. As an
offshoot of that, we started collecting Orchid Antiques and Collectib
There is no Florigen, the flowering process from studies done in the
60's and 70's was show to be a very complex process involving
multiple processes in the plant. No single hormone was ever found to
control the process, rather it involved multiple systems reacting to
multiple stimuli to bring
Has the search for the flowering hormone Florigen been totally discredited?
In looking around the web it didn't appear that much credence was given to

Dear Mr. Whitlow;
What you said! The goverment does know the answer to that question. Also,
Manuel Arias had Peru's permission to export the orchids. I do not know
whether the Peruvian Abasssador wrote to the US. Prosecutor about Manuel having
the proper export permits-Peru is conscientious
Dear Aaron;
I have two mini Phal. species that are on tree fern (javanica and gibbosa),
but they are growing in a raft position to get the extra moisture they need.
They are growing in a shade house with just screening and shade cloth during
the summer and they get well water and rain water.
I have learned that in this climate you can not have too many fans
during the Spring, Summer, and Fall to keep the water from staying on
the leaves or from condensing on the leaves.
When I first built my greenhouse we had a rainy spell with humidity
in the 95% + and 90 deg + during the days. At
Hi Hildegard,
Sorry to hear you are still having problems.
I am only able to guess - as you have not let us know which
genera you are working with. I understand many terrestial
South African genera come from acid nutrient poor habitats,
which may have a bearing on your observations.
Aaron's sugg
ACK!! Carson! It was George Norris of Spring Orchid Specialists in Texas
who was convicted. NOT Norris Powell of The Orchid House in California!!
Let's be clear about this!
Norris Powell is retiring and closing his business. It has nothing to do
with George Norris's troubles.
