This is what I
do.
use php date function to get the current date,
$todaysdate = date("Ymd");
then do the query,
$query = "SELECT id, eventheading, DATE_FORMAT(eventdate, "%D %M %Y") as
evdt FROM notices WHERE eventdate >= $todaysdate ORDER BY
eventdate";
Peter,
I've you tried doing a inner join, left outer join, right outer join?
What db program are you using?
Could you post what your current select statement looks like?

Some of what you've written leads me to believe you might want to use
ORDER BY in your sql. If you want to pull all the newsitems from the db
and then order(not sort) them by date date (descending) you need
something like this
SELECT * FR
Here is what I use to select the first sentence from my text fields.
$result = mysql_query("SELECT news_id, headline, substring_index(body,
\".\" ,1) AS body FROM news",$db);

You'll want a webserver running and PHP configured for that server. You can
easily use IIS or Apache for this purpose. Which one you want to use is
something that many people will argue over, but the simple fact is that
you're doing some offline development and you should use what's easiest for
you
I'm sure an application like this has already been written, but here are
some considerations if you'd like to build your own:
-You need to start a session or have some other functionality that
identifies each user uniquely as they browse your pages.
-For EVERY page the user visits, you're going t

next step is to get the PHP source for PHP 5.1.4. From
here on I do not understand clearly by reading the docs I have searched for
on the Internet through Google. Is there a place that has a VERY clear, step

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Any idea's?!

Yes and it mimics being lazy - allowing overriding values from $_POST
vs. $_GET vs. $_COOKIE depending on what the programmer wants to

To me it allows for the same [lazy] behavior. Period. I've had other
people agree. Say what you want about it.

Managing

Logging in as root with no password remotely is not good. Try making another
user logged in locally with user and password, then try that from remote.
