Seems like there was somebody else recently, on this list or the ibob list,
looking for a fork with more clearance and enough steerer tube for a 59cm
XO-2. Tony, perhaps? Maybe somebody else will remember, or I can find the
thread.

Neat.
How wide a tire will it accept?
How would it work with a 58 cm Toyo Atlantis?
I wonder if I could stick this on and get wider than 2.2" for the
unexpected sandpit on the trail.
Probably a bad idea but might as well find out.
Thanks

Matt,
I added two pictures of the bike I had it mounted on for reference. I am
not sure how the fit will be on a Toyo Atlantis but I was running 26 x 2.15
smart Sam's on cliffhanger rims with a lot of clearance. This is also a
good project for someone who wants to modify it further to accept dis
Oh interesting. I just starting building my Bridgestone XO-2 was a little
disappointed in the tight clearance at the fork. Looked great on yours! Any
reason in particular you weren't satisfied with the swap?

The 1993 XO-2 has very tight clearance by current standards which is what
instigated the initial fork project. The XO-2 I had was basically NOS and
I also ended up with a 1994 XO-3 that had seen some use. I treated the
XO-2 too preciously and I wanted a daily driver which is why I kept the
XO-3.
Thanks for the pics and info Conway.
My idea to apply this to a 700c Atlantis is dumb because the difference
between 700c and 26" is too great. To have equal total wheel size (wheel +
tire), I'd have to run a skinny tire in the back and a 2.2"+ up front.
Nope.
Thanks though. Cool stuff.
