Hi, if you only require 2d cad, take a look to draftsight, from dassault
systemes. I don't know if new versions run on so 6.x, but it's basically
free and worth a try.

kvm windows 7/8/10 guests can be a bit slow in graphic applications, but
quite usable
if you need cpu/memory raw power.
you can use virtualbox, and bridge the virtual lan card of your guest to
a physical lan
or a wifi adapter. the wifi adapter must be fully connected on your
linux
Install x2go server, icewm or openbox and a simple xterminal. With this
stack your gui apps will be usable even on slow networks.
