For most of us volunteers, the week long ICS is not a vacation and
having cell phone and internet access is important in coordinating our
efforts.

I got the survey contest course for ICS layed out this weekend. I brought a
Leica, Total-Station professional land surveying instrument with the
intention of running a precision survey of the course. But I discovered that
there are a couple of technical details involved in getting it set

Well, when you can get 2 bars from MovieStar sitting at the table in the
Brinco field house the concept of vacation solitude sorta becomes
nebulous--especially if there's a phone junky to hand.

The photo box will be at ICS. It will be unattended, but will have
instructions on how to take the best photos, tripod provided. Anyone can
take photos of someone else, and later, if I get enough photos sent to
me, I will collect and send them out via a photo program like Picasa.

While early registration has been closed since last month, the number of
registrants has been climbing as we've finalized some registrations that needed
extra effort to process. This morning I received the final count for early
registration: 1,287.

I don't think anyone is getting a free ride, they are helping the ICS
but are NOT getting any of the benefits of a paid ICS registration
(parties, free beer, banquets, etc.).

Yeah, well maybe we should, but we're not. Perhaps I could have
volunteered through the whole thing and not registered, but not with my head
held high. Not when so many others HAVE paid essentially to work for free.

and now everytime I start it the fan that pulls air out of the cpu starts
spinning like crazy making a buzzing noise... checked on BIOS and supposedly
the inside temperature
Nico, all modern processors have the temp sensor inside the cpu, and
another in the mobo... I would check to make sure the heatsink is
seated properly and that the cpu paste is not dried between the cpu
and heatsink.
91 is too hot for most processors, as i'm sure you are aware :)

I would, clean it good with alcohol or something that won't corrode
copper or aluminum and a soft rag or a worn out sock :)
