Changes made to LightDM to fix bug #1583624 cause Unity 8 configuration
to fail in its upstart job, which causes the symptom that XApps no
longer launch. It may cause other problems as well.
The root of the problem is that the variable MIR_SOCKET is no longer

printer as "Bus 002 Device 010: ID 04e8:3297 Samsung Electronics Co.,
