If you want a full version of 2.0.7, backports is really the only sane
way to go, but it sounds like it has build deps that cannot be
satisfied. :(
If you want the security fixes, you can prepare and test a debdiff
against the current version in Dapper with only the security patches,
then Martin
You should find either Martin Pitt or Kees Cook on IRC and see if they
are willing to prepare a security patch for Dapper's heartbeat-2
package. Backports cannot handle this.

Public bug reported:
Would it be possible to backport the Feisty version of k9copy? The Edgy
version is very unstable, and the maintainer says that the Feisty
version is very usable.
Thanks!

John, I don't seem to understand what you mean.
What are the options that are left (steps I should take)?

Public bug reported:
I would like to request a backport for the slapd-2.3.29-1 package.
The package meets the backport requirements:
1. The package is in feisty.
2. The package builds cleanly from the Feisty source achives (apt-get source -b
openldap2.3).
3. The package depends on libldap-2.3-0

Compiles from source fine on my edgy desktop (no major
modifications/changes), however, in prevu it fails with:
