I try to compile with debug synaptic, but it doesn't work. When I launch gdb
synaptic and run, I see : (no debugging symbols found). Can I do a backtrace

I did some more testing on this last night, and it seems like
max_sectors is OK up to 128, but going any higher causes the device to
disconnect. after some more investigation, it appears like 128 matches
Windows XP's behavior, which explains why Windows doesn't bork on
transfers.

As fas as I can tell this behaviour is intended by upstream.
/usr/share/mimelnk/application/postscript.desktop
includes the lines
[Property::X-KDE-text]
Type=bool
Value=true
which causes the descibed effect. Setting Value=false makes postscript
files render as icon only, like PDF files.

from the color of the bar, it looks like you had a rpm / other OOo
version installed? maybe one built for/on openSuSe? a workaround may be
to purge all OOo packages and reinstall.

I am using Kubuntu now and by setting either Master or PCM to zero and

I agree that this requires some more thinking, and if it was to be done
within nautilus, this should get discussed with the nautilus upstream
